Put out an APB on some Comments Please!

Mon Nov 20, 2006, 3:20 AM
=melonhead118 Has feelings too!

To go alongside *melonhead-emotion's journal here, I'd just like to point out the importance of a few comments now and again.

Every time I log in to this account, i'm greeted with a somewhat bulging message centre, and every time I click that link up there, i'm filled with the vein hope that maybe someone has left me a comment. But lo and behold, there are a couple of hundred journals, and a couple of hundred more faves!

Now, i'm not bothered about the amount of journals, I'm the one who watched you in the first place. Besides, they give me something to waste my mornings with. In one respect, i'm also not that bothered about the amount of faves, it is quite flattering, and I'd be fairly arrogant if I didn't find them that way. In another respect however, you have to wonder, with that amount of faves, you'd think someone would have something to say about my work. They faved it after all right?!

My choice of artwork, whilst being eclectic, is still part of probably the most popular forms of artwork on the site as far as creation is concerned. But its not like i'm trying to beat any competition, I'm just trying to gain a better understanding of my skills, and better them. To be honest, this would be a lot easier if people made use of critique in comments.

First of all, the artist is never anything short of helped by any critique they receive. You should not be afraid of giving an artist critique. If they cannot take onboard any opinion besides their own, then their social skills are somewhat deplorable.

Secondly, when you take a closer look at a piece of artwork to really see all those tiny details, the critique will write itself! You will form your own opinions of an artwork, and the process is not made into a chore like some artists here feel it is.

Secondly, or thirdly for those keeping track, this skill is not just limited to this website. It can be used in real life to form reasoned and solid arguments for situations in which your opinion matters.

So seriously people, taking a little time to add some helpful words to a piece of artwork isn't really that bad! If anything, it'll keep me from assuming you're just faving it to decorate your page with great artwork!

The part with all the crap thats always on my journal...

Eyes can say so much, and they can tell you what the person is thinking even it one small glimpse, all is lost, and nothing will ever be found. Life can be like that too sometimes, you get caught in the darkness, but, the sun will always shine. Eventually
